Climate Book Chapter

I was presented with an incredible opportunity in Spring of 2023 to co-author a chapter about climate grief and mourning with Dr. Jennifer Atkinson and Kyleen Romero. This chapter would be part of a book compiled by editors from the internationally recognized publisher, Routledge.

Dr. Atkinson, Kyleen, and I began work in summer of 2023 to submit a first draft to the editors by fall. As of now (March 2024), we have received confirmation that our collaborative chapter will, in fact, be included within the book and are awaiting a peer review of our work before we can submit our final edited draft.

A chance of this kind was something I dreamed of, but I certainly couldn't have even imagined it would come along before I graduated from undergrad! I feel so deeply grateful for the massive learning opportunity it has offered and for the mentorship of Dr. Atkinson throughout the entire process. Not only have my writing skills grown under Dr. Atkinsons guidance, but my confidence in myself and knowledge of climate emotions have richened greatly. I feel so much more prepared to face my own climate change related grief and provide space for others to process their own. I know this will serve me well in the years to come!
