Design work as a staff writer (2023-2024):
As a journalistic writer, including infographics and design elements into an article is very improtant for reader comprehension and readability. It facilitates the reader's role and makes information more clear and fun to read. The way that I chose to make my design elements this year was by using a program called Canva. This program allows for easy design and also has some pre-designed templates to use. Overall, I used design in my articles to grab the reader attention and make it more enjoyable for the reader to go through my article.
This was my first infographic that I used on my first ever published article. I made it to give a breakdown of each quarter during the game to see how much each team scored in each quarter. This gives a better idea to the reader about how the game developed and how the Scots were very close to having a full comback.
I made this infographic to portray the Carlmont Athletic's teams successes during the 2023-2024 season. Most of the sports teams were consistently in the top five of their leagues, and the program had a very successful year. The article that this infographic is published on highlights each team individually.
This infographic is a simplified step-by-step guide on how to obtain a driver's license. I made this infographic to showcase how easy it is to obtain a license. This was posted with a feature article, about how the amount of teen drivers has been decreasing as time has gone on. It highlights how teens don't find the necessity to drive anymore and have other ways to get around.
Design work as an editor (2024-2025):
This infographic was made for a feature article about how likely it is for artificial intelligence to affect different industries. It depicts different professions and shows how much of that job is already being affected by AI. This infographic was made on an website called Flourish.
