Prototype App for Green Infrastructure managment in Norway

Module 3: Land Prioritization - Multispecies

Identify priority areas for conservation or restoration for multiple species

MODULE 3 allows identify areas where conservation or restoration actions would be most beneficial to preserve the functionality of the entire Green Infrastructure Network.

First, the user need to set hypotetical parameters for the analysis, by selecting one or multiple focal species, their relative importance/weight for land prioritization, and how much land could be protected or restored. Based on these tentative parameters, the solution-builder performs a land prioritization analysis. Performance profile charts estimate the efficacy of the proposed zonation for each species, based upon the parameters tentatively specified. Additional features to identify specific areas for restoration and to guide the optimization of multispecies land prioritization strategies are under development in GreenPlan.

MOD 3 is intended to be used first for exploration and educational purposes, to test and understand how land prioritization results would change when focussing on different species, attributing different weights, or chaging area-protection goals. Parameters to be used in the final land prioritization analysis should be only set in accordance with official guidelines and specific management goals in the area of interest.

Below you can identify areas where conservation or restoration actions would be most beneficial to preserve functional Green Infrastructure Networks

Disclaimer: Maps presented here are test-maps, produced as described here. Current App functionalities are to be regarded as mockups, for testing purposes. In particular, sensitivity maps and related app funcionalities are under active development in GreenPlan
