Our Founders and Executive Leadership
Elson is a Producer, Writer, and Educator based in the mountains outside Los Angeles. Elson is the Digital Course Producer for Sundance Collab and was the Thesis Production Supervisor at the American Film Institute for five years. She holds an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute and is the Co-Founder of the Green Film School Alliance.
An author, filmmaker, and professor of film production at California State University Long Beach, Hayward has worked in editorial, visual effects, and production for over twenty years. A founder and executive committee member of the Green Film School Alliance, he has dedicated himself to the promotion of sustainability in his industry.
Winer is a director, producer, and writer with over 35 years of experience in film and television. Winer directed the motion pictures SPACECAMP, HOUSE ARREST, RIOT, and DAMAGED CARE. In addition, he has directed, produced, and/or written over 25 films, miniseries, and television pilots and created over 60 hours of series television. He is also a professor at NYU.
Kindberg is the VP of Sustainability for Warner Bros Discovery (HBO/MAX) and a member of the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance. Kindberg wrote the introduction to Green Filmmaking and is working to lead to a cultural shift toward more sustainable behaviors both on- and off-screen.
Read is the Executive Director of the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance, a consortium of film and television industry leaders working collaboratively to reduce the environmental impacts of film and television while inspiring a sustainable future onscreen. A graduate of Tufts University, Sam has a deep background in coalitions and strategic partnerships, having worked on social impact and organizing campaigns for organizations like the Peoples Climate Movement, No Kid Hungry, President Obama’s re-election campaign, and more.
Sullivan is a filmmaker and recent graduate of Temple University's Center for Performing and Cinematic Arts. Passionate about environmentalism, she served as Temple's first GFSA Student Ambassador in 2022, during which she became set on integrating green practices into her filmmaking process. In 2025, she became Manager of the Alliance. Grace also works in development and freelances across independent productions.
Our Lead Ambassadors
Yeany is a junior at New York University with a double major in Film and TV at Tisch School of the Arts, and Environmental Studies. She has been involved with the Green Film School Alliance since freshman year and has been a Co-Lead to the Student Ambassadors for two years. As a Writer/Director, she is fascinated by how our art can do more in fostering direct action within our communities. Her favorite place to be out in nature is the Catskills, NY, in any season.
