Not having sustainable cities and communities can cause serious problems like pollution, heavy traffic, unsafe housing, and frequent flooding. When cities are not well-planned, people experience poor living conditions, health issues, and limited access to basic services. Over time, these problems can make life harder for everyone and slow down a country’s progress.
TIPS TO HELP SOLVE THE PROBLEM
FOR STUDENTS:
Practice proper waste segregation and reduce the use of plastic in school and at home.
Save electricity and water by turning off lights, fans, and faucets when not in use.
Join or start school projects like clean-up drives, tree-planting activities, or recycling programs.
Use eco-friendly transportation when possible, such as walking, biking, or carpooling.
Spread awareness on social media about the importance of clean, safe, and organized communities.
FOR COMMUNITIES AND AS A NATION:
Follow and support local waste management and recycling programs.
Encourage community meetings where residents can share ideas about improving their area.
Invest in better public transportation to reduce traffic and air pollution.
Protect and create more green spaces like parks and community gardens.
Strengthen disaster preparedness plans to reduce the impact of floods, typhoons, and other natural disasters.
Support government projects that focus on affordable housing and climate-resilient infrastructure.
