GREAT 2020

(GP & Registrar, Educator Academic Training)

GREAT programme

Welcome to the GREAT educator development programme.

This 6x3 hour programme supports ST3's & SPIN teaching fellows to educate students at their practice, virtually or face-to-face.

Aims

· Supported opportunity to teach Barts and The London medical students at your practice (see here for our teaching opportunities document).

· Support to apply for Associate Fellowship of the HEA

· You will also be eligible to attend any of our faculty development days, for upcoming dates see here

Approach

This year the GREAT programme will be facilitated virtually and engage with virtual pedagogy as well as face-to-face student encounters.

We role-model a student-centred interactive approach to the workshops drawing on your own learning and educator experiences. We will share ideas and experiences of educating students, try new things out, reflect together on what is working, what can be improved and engage the pedagogical literature.

This course draws on design-based methods, creative enquiry, systems thinking, virtual whiteboards and more.
