Proposal
The proposed project aims to develop a novel strengthening solution that uses natural fibre meshes embedded in an inorganic lime-mortar matrix. The new system will provide a more sustainable and cost‐effective alternative to both traditional methods and advanced composite systems and will provide a more reliable solution that can be engineered to meet the specific performance criteria of masonry buildings.
Overview of the Action
This research aims to develop a new generation of sustainable, cost effective strengthening and rehabilitation solutions for masonry structures by using environmentally friendly natural fibres meshes embedded in an inorganic lime-mortar matrix (NTRM). The fellowship will also develop the necessary background knowledge and provide the experimental evidence required to enable the development of suitable design methods in line with European standards.
