Important Information

Hours:

Once Grassroots Academy begins, sessions will like be Monday - Thursday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. However, players will likely leave the field shortly after 6 pm, as after our session, we will take time to provide feedback on how your child is doing during that specific session.

Missed Sessions

If your child misses a session, please do not stress at all. My contacts are listed on the contact page. A simple text stating that your child will be missing the session is perfect, and a makeup date will be provided shortly after.

Weekly session structure (~60 minutes)

Welcome and warm up (~5:00 pm - 5:15 pm): Players are allowed to join in at this time, with Coach Matteo Leading a group warm-up and getting to know each of his players better. Ball Mastery + General Skills (~5:15 pm - 5:30 pm): Ball mastery refers to learning new moves your child can use on the field, such as toe taps, dumbbells, sole rolls, etc. Physical Literacy/Fitness Training (~5:30 pm - 5:40 pm): Physical Literacy and Fitness refers to encouraging your child to always work the hardest on the field, and encouraging endurance improvement through active games such as Octopus (with a ball), Shark, and Freeze Tag (with a ball). Small-Sided Game (~5:40 pm - 5:55 pm): During this time, your child will participate in a small-sided game (typically 3v3 or 4v4, depending on the number of kids), with active feedback given throughout the game tailored for your child. Feedback and dismissal (~6:00 pm): Any questions for your child's coach will be given at this time, with positive encouragement and feedback being a guaranteed.

Location

Grassroots Academy will take place at Lions Park in Milton, but the exact field will vary week-to-week, which will be provided through email updates.
