• Regulation boards: 24" x 48" with 6" hole
• Advanced/Intermediate boards placed 27 feet apart
• Beginner boards placed 24 feet apart
• 4 bags per side/player
• Teams must use designated bag colors during matches
• The league currently has 6 sets of bags available
• Teams are welcome to bring and use their own bags
• Partners must stand across from each other at opposite boards
• Players remain on the same side for the entire match
• If there is a disagreement about which team stands on which side, teams may do a “bag flip” to decide positions
• The player whose bag lands closest to the hole gets to choose their preferred side
• The same bag flip may also be used to determine which team throws first
The cornhole boards and bags are personal property of the organizers, with additional boards owned by the HOA.
Please help us keep everything in great condition:
• Do not step or stand on the boards
• Handle bags and equipment respectfully
• Return all equipment to its proper location after play
A huge thank you to Deb Rodarte for blocking out the tented pavilion for the league on Thursday nights. The pavilion is normally a rentable space at the Village Center, and having it reserved for league use gives us a great home base for the season.
The pavilion provides:
• Covered seating and shade
• Tables for food and drinks
• Access to the grill area
• A comfortable place for neighbors to gather, eat, relax, and socialize between games
This will be especially helpful during hot weather or unexpected rain.
Players are welcome to bring their own food and drinks, including alcohol.
🚫 No glass containers are allowed at the Village Center.
• Matches played to 21 points
• Exact scoring is NOT required
• Bag in the hole = 3 points
• Bag on the board = 1 point
• Foul bag = 0 points
A bag is considered a foul if:
• It touches the ground before landing on the board
• It bounces onto the board
Foul bags should be removed immediately.
• Do not touch bags until both teams agree on the score
• Maximum match time: 45 minutes
• If time expires, the team currently ahead wins
• First throw may be determined by:
• Coin toss
• Bag flip
• Mutual agreement
• The team who scored in the previous inning throws first in the next inning
• If an inning ends tied, the same team retains first throw
• Once a player picks up a bag, please throw within a reasonable amount of time to help keep matches moving
• In the interest of time, no warm-up throws before each match. We ask players get there early to practice.
• No intentional distractions or unsportsmanlike conduct during play
• Substitutes are allowed if needed
• Different players may participate each week
• Players may NOT swap in/out during an active match
• Only 1 player is required to play a scheduled match(that player would move from side to side). In the interest of time, the leagues preference would be to have at least 2 team members play.
• No substitutions during tournaments
• No swapping players during matches
• Tournament players must have participated at least twice during the season
NO TOURNAMENT WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR THE 2026 SEASON
• All league participants must follow Grant Ranch Village Center rules and staff directions at all times
• No glass containers are allowed at the Village Center
• Please help keep the facility clean and respect surrounding residents and amenities
• League play may be delayed, paused, or canceled due to unsafe weather conditions
⚡ Lightning Policy
• If lightning is detected within approximately 10 miles of the Village Center area, play will be suspended immediately
• Players should move to safe covered areas until conditions improve
• League coordinators will determine when play can safely resume or if matches need to be postponed or rescheduled
• All scoring or rule disputes will be decided by the league coordinators
• Coordinator decisions are final
Please respect:
• Other players
• League volunteers
• The facility
• League equipment
• Allow your opponent to complete their throw before beginning your own throw
• No intentional distractions or interference during throws
Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in removal from the league.
The Village Center has been incredibly supportive of the league, and we want to leave the area in excellent condition each week.
Please remember:
• Everything moved must go back where it belongs
• Chairs and tables must be returned to original locations
• Trash should be cleaned up and disposed of properly
• Equipment, lights, bags, and supplies should be stored correctly
• Food and drink areas should be cleaned before leaving
Our goal is to leave the area looking like we were never there.
• Setup: 5:15 PM – 5:30 PM
• Practice/Warm-Up: 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM
• League Play: 6:00 PM – 7:45 PM
• Cleanup: 7:45 PM – 8:00 PM
• Team captains are responsible for submitting team availability by Sunday at noon each week
• Substitutes must be registered in Scoreholio for tracking and tournament eligibility
• Scoreholio will automatically rotate scheduled matches into available lanes as games finish
• League scheduling is designed for:
• Up to 6 matches/night for advanced/intermediate
• Approximately 5 matches/night for beginner league
• Last match start time will generally be around 7:30 PM
• Any match not completed by 7:45 PM may be called at that time so cleanup can begin on schedule
If a team cannot attend and substitutes cannot be found, scheduled games will be forfeited.
Scoreholio does not allow major schedule changes once schedules are finali
Please help us keep the league community-focused by avoiding bringing in highly competitive outside “ringer” players whose primary goal is simply winning games or prize money.
The goal of this league is:
Building community connections
Having fun
Friendly competition
Competition is welcome — but community comes first.
• Teams may include non-resident players
• At least one Grant Ranch resident is required per team
• The Grant Ranch resident should participate in at least half of the league nights to help keep the league centered around neighborhood involvement and connections
