The following information is from 2026 and will need to be updated for 2027.

The championship entries will be based on the Avacal rubric. 

You need: 

(1) Two entries 

(2) To tell us what you what you: did, made, or wrote (either a verbal presentation, written presentation, or video presentation). 

There are options to ‘present’ your information. 

However, for video presentations, you need to let the organizers know at least 1-month before hand what equipment you need OR be responsible for organizing the technical equipment yourself, including the device (i.e. laptop) and things like extension cords. 

You should try to the best of your ability to answer: who, what, where, when, why, and how and include the sources of your information (the bibliography).

If it is a research paper, it must be sent into the organizers one month ahead to give the judges time to read it.

If you want the Job of A&S Champion, you will be judge on your knowledge of the historic aspects of your entry, how well you presented it, and your technical skill levels. 

The job of A&S Champion involves actively promoting A&S within the kingdom of Avacal to the best of your time and ability. This includes supporting the baronial A&S championships, developing or supporting A&S at all kingdom level events, supporting people wanting to get involved in A&S, supporting the Crown, being a visual model for historic reenactment within Avacal, and be actively involved in choosing your successor.  We do not need to be perfect; we just need to try. Think: teaching (which includes modeling and mentoring), judging for competitions, largesse support
