Benjamin’s research interests center on improving teacher preparation with a focus on equipping general education teachers to implement effective behavior supports and content literacy strategies. He is particularly interested in how pre-service and in-service training can better prepare educators to address the behavioral and academic needs of diverse learners within inclusive classrooms. He hopes to explore the intersection of content-area instruction and behavioral support frameworks, with an emphasis on how teachers can integrate evidence-based practices to enhance student engagement, foster positive classroom environments, and promote literacy in history and civics education. Through this lens, Benjamin seeks to bridge gaps between theory and practice in teacher education and contribute to a more equitable and supportive learning experience for all students.
