I am a CNRS postdoctoral researcher within the ANR project HilbertXField. I am based at the Insitut de Mathematiques de Jussieu - Paris Rive Gauche (IMJ-PRG), Sorbonne Université, working with Antonin Guilloux.
Before this, I was a PhD student at the University of Sydney, working with Stephan Tillmann from mid-2019 to mid-2024. My thesis was titled Character varieties, earthquakes, and essential surfaces. I started my PhD remotely in Brisbane while working at Boeing Research and Technology, Australia. When in Brisbane, I also worked with Masoud Kamgarpour (University of Queensland).
I am interested in hyperbolic geometry, geometric topology, Teichmüller theory, and representations of fundamental groups. I mostly think about character varieties of surfaces and 3-manifolds. Character varieties provide a rich area of study and have been shown to reflect geometric and topological information of the manifold itself.
The pictures above and below are a visualisation of a collection of earthquakes on Teichmüller space of the once-punctured torus in two coordinate systems. Here Teichmüller space can be shown to be a specific component of the SL(2,R)-character variety of the once-punctured torus.
