There are plenty of things to keep you busy during your extra days in South East Queensland. If you like the beach, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast are great day-trip destinations. There are some beautiful hikes in the numerous nationals parks nearby, such as Mt Tamborine, or Springbrook. Another good idea is simply to explore the city of Brisbane, as it prepares to host the 2032 Olympic games. You can visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Streets Beach, Botanical Gardens Mt. Cootha, City Botanical Gardens or Kangaroo point of climbing.
