At Brockport, I took a different path. I'm playing flag football. This sport is a lot different from soccer and basketball. Flag Football has near 30 sum people. transferring to Brockport from a small community college, having 30+ people on a team is very overwhelming. trying to learn names and competing for a spot with more people. it took me a bit to get used to. The more the session continues, it gets easier to be confident in my skills, and people's names come easier. flag helped me be more social in big groups and build confidence.
At the end of my journey with my Flag football team, a lot has happened from the beginning of the session to the end. The team has overcome so many obstacles from being a first year NCAA collegian sport, people on the team leaving, so many unexpected injuries. This team kept pushing and never gave up, earning the first-ever championship trophy. It wasnt just on the field that these girls showed their skills. We succeeded in the classroom too with almost all the team hitting the honor roll. I played with everything I had in every game, and that may have led to my downfall. Always wanting to complete the pass and push my team up field. In one game, I broke my ankle going for a two-toe touch in the end zone. The injury wasnt the first one on the team, so we got use to next player up. The next player stepped up and showed the other team why they on this team. I didnt get to finish playing the session with my team, but I did get to support them till the very end and watch them play their hearts out.
