Creature Powers
Monday - Thursday, 9am - 12pm
July 5th - July 27th
Have you ever wondered about different habitats and the animals that live in them? Have you ever looked up at a bird and wondered what it would be like to have the power to fly? Or wondered what it would feel like to swim with the penguins or explore the forest with a porcupine, or roam the desert with a camel? What makes some animals more suitable for water life, while others thrive on land? If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, or even wondered what it would be like to have these creature powers yourself, come join us for an exploration into different habitats around the globe and meet the creatures that live there!
Through this learning pathway, you will have the opportunity to observe and read about different habitats and animals that live in them. You will also be able to choose an animal you want to learn more about, discover the adaptations that help them survive, and build a “creature power suit” that brings that animal's “creature powers” to life. To build this suit you will apply your learning about the adaptations from the animal you study, and design a suit that you can wear that features these adaptations. Maybe you’ll build a suit with a rhinoceros horn, or elephant trunk!
*This pathway will also incorporate a focus on foundational skills in reading and writing.
