Reflection

Continuity Exercise: The student identifies a patient with an acute exacerbation of a condition early in the GP block and follows them up on one or two further occasions during the placement (face to face, phone, review of notes) in regard to ongoing management. The student completes a reflection in their online log book.

Some points of note for filling in LOGBOOKS:

  1. Qualified health professionals of any discipline can complete feedback. Their registration number is not required but you will need their work email address.

  2. If the forms can be completed in 'real time', eg not sending an email, this will reduce burden on all parties. Hospitals are aware you may need to carry devices with you onto wards to do this.

  3. A suggested 'none touch' technique to complete feedback forms in real time is for the healthcare professional to dictate the feedback to you and you complete on your device.

  4. We will continue to monitor the situation in terms of forms completed and amend requirements if the placement situations change.
