Integrated Solutions for Sustainable and Resilient Geotechnical Infrastructure
Engineering the Future Below Ground
Welcome to INSpIRE Research Group!
This research group is based in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad. The group conducts fundamental and applied research in geotechnical engineering, focusing on developing sustainable, resilient, and intelligent infrastructure systems. The group's research spans underground structures, geotechnical earthquake engineering, constitutive modelling of soils and rocks, offshore foundations, and data-driven approaches using artificial intelligence and machine learning. By integrating mechanics, advanced computation, laboratory experimentation, and field-scale engineering, the group aims to address emerging challenges in subsurface and geotechnical infrastructure. This group's research contributes to various UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 7, 9, 11, 12, and 13.
