Hi! I am Gowtham,
I am a civil engineering researcher specialising in geotechnical earthquake engineering and soil–structure interaction. My work focuses on the seismic stability of underground structures, advanced numerical modelling, and data-driven approaches for predicting soil collapse. I am also interested in developing geotechnical resilience frameworks for offshore wind foundations, with emphasis on coupled seismic and environmental loading.
Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher (FARE Fellow) in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. My overarching research interests lie in soil-structure interaction, geotechnical earthquake engineering, constitutive modelling, and machine learning applications. I was awarded the Outstanding PhD Thesis Award among all graduating doctoral students in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur, at the 58th Convocation ceremony held on June 23, 2025.
