Criminal Investigations Division is comprised of three units, Vice, Investigations, Crime Scene Techs. This unit is a very specialized unit where a skilled deputy or personal is located. They handle Drugs, Gangs, Homicide and any other crimes that are out the investigative scopes of the deputies in patrol. They work closely with the Medical Examiners Office.
Detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) are responsible for the investigation of serious felony crimes committed against persons, society, or property in the county. The division is also staffed by an Investigative Support Specialist who performs technical, analytical, and administrative work to support the Criminal Investigations Division and the Crime Analyst Function.
The VICE Unit is responsible for the investigation and suppression of illicit drug trafficking, gang violence, prostitution, gambling, human trafficking and ABC violations throughout the county. Investigations performed by this unit require the use of an assortment of techniques such as surveillance undercover operations, informant development, information gathering and analysis, and the service of search and arrest warrants.
