〣 Field Training Officer 〣
The Field Training position within the Blaine County Sheriff's Office is a specialized certification role designed for deputies who seek to train & educate incoming cadets on the proper methods and manners of the department. As a Field Training Officer, the deputy is entrusted with various critical responsibilities, including basic and advanced trainings, developing new and existing deputies' abilities and ensuring the smooth operation of academic duties. Successful candidates will possess a keen understanding of Department Training, Law Enforcement Knowledge, and the ability to respond effectively to questions in the field. This division opens the door for deputies to contribute significantly to the continued education of BCSO by facilitating a safe and respectful department academy, managing and molding the abilities of BCSO Staff, and supporting the overall mission of the Blaine County Sheriff's Office in upholding the law.
The mission of the Field Training Program is to create a stable relationship between the Blaine County Sheriff's Office and the Community by educating and training well-rounded Deputies. The Field Training Program strives to provide excellent education to Deputies and all Department Staff.

To be eligible for an FTO, please view the following criteria established;
- Hold the Rank of, or equivalent to, Deputy III
- No 10-90s in the past 30 days.
- No 10-93s in the past 60 days.
You must attend a required training session & pass to be certified as a Field Training Officer. These sessions are listed in certification training announcements. You may contact the host for further information.
