In short, The Crafts invented rock and roll in 1954.

The band began with a bang when (already highly accomplished artists) Chris Wildblood and Chung got together that sunny Philidelphia afternoon in 1954. Bored of their previous acts (Chung played in The Beatles, Chris in The Kinks), they decided to break out on their own. That crazy jam session ended up being released 53 years later as 'The First Session'.

Things really took off for Chung and Chris when they played live at London's Hyde Park in 1959. That's when the band took the jump and decided to move to the countryside town of Chippenham in England.

The Crafts continued to tour and record, but not much is known about the period between 1960 and 1974. None of the original recordings have, as yet, surfaced.

In 1974, the band recorded their famous Christmas Session (alternatively titled Sean Burton) with keyboard wizzard Chewbacca. Things were really looking up for the band with the new 3 piece line up, when fate took a turn for the worst. In the summer of 1979, Chewbacca became horribly addicted to heroin, which cost him his life.

Chung and Chris were unsure of how to continue without Chewbacca behind the keys, and it was 4 years before the brought up the courage to record again. And thank god they did! 1983's Best There Ever Was. was just that - the best thing they had recorded to date. Everything about it was perfect; the songs, the prodoction, even the album cover. The whole thing was a work of art. The Crafts were back in action! Or so it seemed.

It wasn't long before tensions built up between Chris and Chung, some say caused by a dispute over chilled beverages. Others argue that the band were simply tired of all the aspiring bands that were just clean ripping them off (Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Sepultura, Death, Slayer, The Pixies, and nearly every other band that formed at 1954). The band decided to call it quits on April 24th 1988.

19 long years passed. 19 long years without true rock and roll. Of course, people still listened to the records, but the real spirit of The Crafts live show was gone forever. Or so it seemed…

Chris and Chung ended up getting together in the Summer of 2007, where it was decided the world had gone too long without rock and roll. Of course, there had been many hacks trying to copy what The Crafts had done, but none had succeeded. The band recorded a few practice sessions (which have not been heard by the public as of yet), but really got back together when they played Live from The Children's Ward (which was later released, along with reissues of all their old recordings by Cow Records). Since then, the band has really started rockin' and rollin' again! Raking in fans old and new.

The band has since released 2 breathtaking sessions, The Barn Sessions (December 2007) and Speed Sessions (January 2008), as well as a solo recording by Chung himself. Who knows what 2008 will bring? We can't say for certain, but we know it's going to rock your world.
