At Good Shepherd Seminary, we believe that every believer has a role to play in God’s mission, and theological education should be accessible to all who feel called to grow in faith and understanding. There is no age limit for admission; our doors are open to men and women from all walks of life who desire to deepen their theological insight and spiritual maturity. Formation at Good Shepherd is designed to nurture not only the intellect but the heart—preparing each student to live out the Gospel in truth, love, and service.
Admission Requirements and Eligibility
To maintain both academic integrity and pastoral readiness, the Seminary requires applicants to meet the following basic criteria:
Faith Commitment: A genuine desire to grow in Christian discipleship and theological understanding.

Character and Conduct: A life consistent with Christian values and moral integrity.
Pastoral Recommendation: Applicants for ordination-track programs are encouraged to submit a recommendation or endorsement from their parish priest, bishop, or denominational superior (if applicable).
Please note that there is no age restriction—our formation is open to both young and mature learners who feel drawn to theological study and service in the Church.

We recognize that every calling and circumstance is unique. To make theological formation accessible to all, we offer flexible modes of study designed to meet the spiritual and academic needs of our diverse community:
Online: Ideal for students who are already serving in ministry, employed, or living outside Enugu. Our online programs provide a rich virtual classroom experience with live lectures, recorded sessions, discussion forums, and guided mentorship. Students can study from anywhere while remaining connected to the seminary’s spiritual life.
On-Campus (Formation House): For those discerning priesthood, religious life, or deeper communal formation, our residential formation house in Enugu offers an immersive environment of prayer, study, and service. Seminarians live in community, participate in daily liturgy, and receive in-person pastoral supervision and mentoring.
Hybrid: This flexible option combines both online and on-campus learning. Students attend key formation retreats or intensive courses in person while completing academic coursework online. It allows for deeper formation while maintaining balance with personal, family, or ministerial responsibilities.
All three modes maintain the same academic standards, spiritual depth, and commitment to forming hearts, minds, and spirits in the light of Christ.
