Scholarships and Financial Aid
We recognize that a true vocation should never be hindered by financial limitations. Our mission is to support those whom God has called to serve—especially those who have already dedicated their lives to ministry within the Charismatic Old Catholic Church in Africa.
Through our Scholarship and Financial Aid Program, we extend a helping hand to seminarians and clergy who demonstrate genuine need, proven commitment to ministry, and the pursuit of excellence in theological formation.
Eligibility Criteria
Scholarships at Good Shepherd Seminary are strictly reserved for:
Serving ministers of the Charismatic Old Catholic Church in Africa, whether ordained or in active pastoral assignment.
Seminarians currently serving in parishes, missions, or chaplaincies under the Charismatic Old Catholic Church within any African region.
Those outside the communion of the Charismatic Old Catholic Church may still apply for payment plans or tuition discount, but are not eligible for the scholarship program.
Types of Scholarship Available
Full Scholarship
Granted in rare cases to ministers with exceptional financial hardship, long-standing service record, and endorsement from their regional bishop or superior.
This award covers full tuition and course materials for the academic session.
Partial Scholarship
Offered to seminarians or ministers demonstrating both commitment to ministry and financial need. This may cover a portion (25%–75%) of tuition fees depending on the level of need and available funds.
Qualification and Assessment
Scholarship assessment is conducted with pastoral care and accountability. Applicants are evaluated based on:
Demonstrated Financial Need – A candidate must show that personal or family resources are insufficient to cover the cost of study.
Ministerial Commitment – Active participation in parish, mission, or diocesan ministry within the Charismatic Old Catholic Church-Africa is required.
Character and Discipline – Applicants must exhibit spiritual maturity, humility, and good moral standing, with no record of disciplinary issues.
Academic Diligence – Consistent effort and satisfactory academic performance in all enrolled courses.
Endorsement – A written recommendation or endorsement from the Regional Bishop, Vicar General, or Parish Priest verifying the applicant’s service and character.
The Seminary Scholarship Committee reviews applications prayerfully and equitably, ensuring that all decisions reflect stewardship, transparency, and justice.

Funding and Stewardship
The Good Shepherd Ecumenical Seminary Scholarship Fund is sustained through the generosity of the Church, individual benefactors, and supportive diocesan partners. We encourage alumni, clergy, and friends of the Seminary to contribute towards this cause, ensuring that future generations of ministers can answer their calling without financial burden.
Every contribution—whether small or large—helps form priests, deacons, and lay leaders who will serve faithfully across Africa and beyond.
Important Note
Scholarships at Good Shepherd Seminary are limited and cannot be guaranteed to all eligible applicants.
We encourage all prospective students to prepare financially where possible, trusting that God’s providence often works through both personal effort and the generosity of the faithful.
