We (VCU – Chemistry) are super proud of our history. We would like to invite YOU for “The John B. Fenn Annual Lecture that honors the memory of VCU professor John B. Fenn, who joined the faculty at VCU in 1994. He was awarded the 2002 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his groundbreaking research in developing “electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry”, a tremendous revolution in the field of mass spectrometry that allowed scientists for the first time to characterize large biomolecules with biomedical relevance. The John B. Fenn Annual Lecture is annually presented by scientists who have made a significant contribution to the development or application of mass spectrometry. We are excited to announce that Professor John R. Yates III (Scripps Research), whose work was foundational to the proteomics field, will present The John B. Fenn Annual Lecture on 11 April 2024. We are deeply thankful to our sponsors (Agilent, CMP Scientific Corp, Sciex, and Thermo).

We are delighted to announce that we will have the honor of hosting (March 21 - 2024) Dr. Jace Jones from the University of Maryland as our seminar speaker. The title of his talk is "The Pursuit of How Structure Impacts Function: From Lipids to Oligonucleotides".
