⚓ The art used for the application must be 100% yours to use!
No picrews, no cool art you found on pinterest. You may use commissioned art! Please ensure it is still compliant with the aesthetics and setting.  

⚓Use Common Sense. As adults, any issues should be handled privately in dms. Please leave personal drama out of the server. Do not vent or bring up personal/sensitive subjects.

Please speak with the mods about it if you need assistance.

The group is a social space and we encourage you to enjoy your time here! Please be mindful of topics you bring into the chats. We all are aware of the state of the world. Let's escape it for a bit.

Will there be additional species outside of humans and mermaids?

• No. see character creation for more details!

I turn 18 in a couple months, can I still join?

• No. Please respect the adult only space!

What does 18+ mean?

• 18+ is simply an age cutoff. This group will not be nsfw in nature.

Thoughts on the lgbt+?

• Happy pride month! We love our queer community & homophobes will have no place in our rp community! Yay!

Would it be okay to use/recycle ocs with their lore tweaked to fit Goldberry more?

• Yes! As long as they can realistically fit into the setting, it's all good! Check out the Creation tab of the site to reference what we'll be looking for from apps. (One of the mods is doing this with several npcs anyways)

Will there be npcs?

• "will there be npcs??" -> Oh yes. They're at varying levels of excitement to meet everyone this summer season.

Is Goldberry a limited run/short term group? Is the group going to end once the plot ends?

• We currently have no plans to end the group on a certain date. Our intention is to continue using the setting once the events of the mystery have concluded. 

Will there be a member cap? / how many members are you hoping to accept?

• The mod team is small, so we're looking to accept a limited number of applicants as well. We're hoping to have somewhere between 20-30 members in our final cast!
  Depending on the amount of interest, we may look into expanding the mod team! How exciting would it be to really fill up this small town!!

What are player expectations going to be like? Will you aim for a chill group or would you be aiming for high activity from your members?

• While we hope for chill vibes, we do expect a certain level of engagement or activity from members, particularly for those hoping to engage with the mystery-- there will likely be a better chance of success with at least consistent levels of engagement, regardless of whether its low or not.
  tldr; Mods are expecting a moderate amount of activity!

What if I'm too busy to continually participate in events?

• Lowkey we're not expecting to be constantly putting out events. We don't see this necessarily being that fast paced of a plot. If you're too busy for mini events every few weeks, we suggest reevaluating whether you really want to join? 

How timezone friendly will this group be? Will the RP events/sessions be able to cater to all timezones or would it be more friendly to those of specific timezones?

• With the mods in NA, chances are most events/sessions will take place at times most comfortable for those in PST - EST (or for those with wacky sleep schedules).  But this is subject to change! 

Would [XYZ fish species be allowed?]

• We are accepting Freshwater and brackish fish. No restraints on country or region of origin.

What art is required for the drawn app? 

• Just a headshot. You may do as much as you please + edit the app within resemblance as long as all the information in the visual app guideline is able to be found and read within it.

Can we come up with our own jobs for our ocs?

• Yes! If you need inspiration, we provided a job list for examples of places of employment, but your occupation is open. However, an occupation not from the list and not fitting the setting could be cause for a denial of your app. Please consider when choosing.

Do tourists need to abide by the same job rules?

• No. They're on vacation!

 Do tourist mermaids exist?

• No

Are IRL brands/stores referenced in universe? (Ie: Walmart, Nintendo) or are they cleverly twisted into a fictional varient? (Ie: Mallmart, Wintendo) OR... are they just straight up not referenced?

• IRL chain stores simply don't exist within Goldberry. #small town moment. Outside of Goldberry? Writer's discretion. We don't have any rules about that.

Would it be possible for a character to have an established family business in town?

• Yes!

Is it possible for OCs to die in the group? How difficult is it to die in the setting?

• You are not immortal. If your characters' actions have consequences that cause death... they will cause death.

• Mods don't want you to die, so the overall average difficulty is about a 3-4/10-- 10 being super easy to die.
