What does signing a card mean?
Signing a union card is how you become a member of our union. Signing a card makes you eligible to participate in general body meetings, membership votes, and leadership positions.
Signing a card is private. Your PI or supervisor cannot see that you've signed a card. However, we hope that signing your union card is empowering and we encourage everyone to be open with their peers about their decision to help build our union.
If you experience any form of retaliation as a result of participating in our union, contact us immediately. Retaliation for signing a union card is illegal, and we have the means to protect our members.
