During its production from 1941 to the end of World War II in 1945, the Jeep went through a long and somewhat tedious list of changes, from adding mounts for a first aid kit and grease gun, to changing certain seal material from rubber to felt. To add further minutia, the Jeep was produced with further changes between the two companies that manufactured them for the war effort- Willys Overland and Ford.

On April 1st, 1943, MB 223063 rolled off the Willys-Overland production line and entered into history.

The purpose of this blog is very multi-layered, and has several objectives. The first is a repository of information and specifications for a very particular production of military Jeep.

The second is to record what work and challenges were faced in restoring the Jeep to a 'High Motorpool' standard. What this means is to produce the jeep back to the standard of its first initial delivery into the army, where it has all equipment and factory condition, but marked for use by an army division. While the exact history of this particular jeep is lost to time, for the purposes of my own interests I have chosen to have the Jeep represented as a vehicle in the 9th Infantry division.
