WHAT ARE WE UP TO NOW? 

Our GND4S resolution has been passed unanimously by the State Board of Education and is now moving through the DC Council. In the face of a new budget cycle, we are working hard to ensure that our demands are prioritized and given funding. 

For FREE AND HEALTHY LUNCHES, we are wholeheartedly supporting Councilmember Christina Henderson's Universal School Meals Act, with the hopes that stipulations will be added to ensure sustainibility. 

For CLIMATE CURRICULUM and PATHWAYS TO GREEN JOBS, we are working with the nonprofit Challenger Center to create new comprehensive curriculum and sustainably focused pathways that can be used across DC schools. 

For INFRASTRUCTURE and CLIMATE DISASTER PLANS we are testifying extensively for the DC Council for the prioritization of our resolution, modernizing buildings sustainably and creating long-lasting systems that can hold up to the climate crisis. We have also been working directly with Council offices through many meetings, maintaining relationships and pushing our work forwards effectively.
