The GuardMe Student Support Program (SSP) is a comprehensive wellbeing support service designed to help students navigate personal, academic, and life challenges throughout their educational journey.
The program provides confidential access to professional clinicians and expert advisors who can support students with a wide range of concerns, from managing stress and anxiety to navigating financial or housing challenges.
Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from anywhere in the world, ensuring students can access help whenever they need it.
Students can connect with support through phone, chat, video, or the GuidanceResources mobile app, allowing them to choose the method that feels most comfortable.
The program is designed to complement existing campus resources by expanding access to support beyond traditional office hours and providing additional expertise that may not always be available on campus.
By offering immediate access to professional support, the GuardMe Student Support Program helps students address challenges early and continue focusing on their education.
Students access the program through the GuidanceResources mobile app or by calling the dedicated support line.
Once connected, students can receive immediate guidance from a master’s-level clinician who can help them discuss their situation, explore solutions, and determine next steps.
For students who require ongoing support, the program also offers the option to schedule counselling appointments with clinicians who match their preferences.
Students can choose clinicians based on factors such as:
language preference
specialization or areas of expertise
gender identity or cultural background
availability and location
This approach allows students to find the support that feels right for them while maintaining continuity of care with the same counsellor when appropriate.
The GuardMe Student Support Program provides access to a broad range of services designed to support students in multiple areas of life.
Students can connect immediately with a professional counsellor through phone, chat, or video.
This real-time access allows students to speak with a trained clinician whenever they need support, whether they are experiencing emotional distress, academic pressure, or simply need someone to talk to.
Immediate access ensures students can receive guidance without waiting for an appointment.
Students may schedule counselling appointments with licensed clinicians for ongoing support.
These sessions allow students to explore challenges in greater depth and work with a counsellor to develop strategies for managing stress, relationships, academic pressure, or other concerns.
Students may choose their counsellor and continue sessions with the same clinician when appropriate.
Students can access professional guidance on financial concerns such as budgeting, managing debt, understanding credit, and navigating financial stress.
Financial advisors can help students develop practical strategies to improve their financial wellbeing.
Students can receive general legal guidance on common issues such as housing disputes, consumer rights, or navigating legal processes.
Legal professionals provide information and guidance to help students better understand their options.
Students can receive guidance when navigating housing challenges, moving to a new city, or relocating during their studies.
Advisors can help students explore available options and connect with appropriate resources.
Students can receive support in navigating personal and life challenges, including adjusting to university life, managing time and priorities, and balancing academic and personal responsibilities.
Coaches help students build resilience and develop practical strategies for success.
Faculty and staff can access consultation services when they are supporting students experiencing distress or difficult circumstances.
These consultations provide guidance on how to approach conversations with students and connect them to appropriate resources.
The program also provides institutions with support during critical incidents that impact the campus community.
This may include trauma response, counselling support following major events, and coordinated response services designed to help institutions support students during difficult situations.
Students may also have access to educational sessions focused on wellbeing topics such as stress management, resilience, sleep, nutrition, and maintaining healthy habits.
These sessions help students build skills that support long-term wellbeing.
