This project was undertaken as a semester long exercise in creating a website that could house information for parents, teachers, and administrators. It also served as a template for a mini-portfolio to demonstrate the various projects that were completed throughout the course.
The time frame for this project was over the course of an entire semester.
Each tab within the website contains a mini-project or a large scale project. Specifically a tab has been dedicated to technology integration in the core subjects (Math, Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language). Two tabs have been dedicated to modeling how to implement educational technology applications, "Twitter as a Tool," and "Plickers as a Tool." There are also tabs dedicated to assistive technologies, how computer networks actually work, and my favorite page - parent resources page. Each tab within this site also addresses the ISTE standards and how they were met with the mini-projects.
The end result of this semester long project was an excellent example of the work I completed over time. Each mini-project contributing to the larger project. This taught me overall more about educational technology and how to implement it with fidelity. The biggest take away from this project was the impact it had on my instruction as a teacher. I was able to take these skills back to the classroom and scaffold my instruction to facilitate greater learning for my students.
