Marching band highlights brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments and teaches marching band styles for performances at football games and competitions.
The Marching Rams currently compete in the Colorado Bandmasters Association class 3A.
Rehearsals start in June. In the fall, we rehearse after school twice a week and alternate Saturdays. We perform in the homecoming parade, at home varsity football games and in up to 5 marching contests during the fall.

Color Guard develops students' dance, movement, and use of flags and other equipment (rifles, sabers, etc.) in conjunction with a marching band.
Choreographed dance is a primary component of the Color Guard and techniques from ballet, jazz, and tap will be taught.
The Color Guard performs in the homecoming parade and during half-time at home varsity football games, and marching competitions in the fall.
The GMHS Color Guard practices weekly throughout summer. In the fall, they rehearse after school twice a week and on Saturdays.
Winter Guard performs separately from the marching band at indoor competitions throughout the metro area.
The group is open to all students, regardless of experience.
Indoor winds is a competitive, indoor marching arts activity that brings the energy of marching bands into gymnasiums, serving as a winter personality for brass, percussion and woodwind players. Similar to winter guard, this ensemble blends music, movement, and theater in an intimate setting.

Green Mountain High School offers a jazz band class that develops playing techniques brass, woodwind, percussion, keyboard, and guitar or bass instruments.
The class focuses on contemporary stage band literature styles such as traditional jazz, Latin, and rock, with an emphasis on jazz improvisation. Jazz Band typically performs in four school concerts a year plus jazz festivals throughout Colorado.
Green Mountain High School offers a concert band class to develop playing techniques for brass and woodwind instruments, as well as a percussion ensemble that covers a variety of band literature styles, primarily for concert performances.
The GMHS Concert Bands typically performs in four school concerts per year.
The GMHS Percussion Ensemble consists of various percussion instruments, while focusing primarily on the idea of rhythm.
Percussion Ensemble uses a wide variety of instruments, including all kinds of drums, mallet instruments, cymbals, metal and wood “toys” and just about anything else percussionists can use to create music.
The Percussion Ensemble performs at all Concert Band concerts and is open to all GMHS student musicians.
