International projects

The West China Project was a joint project organized by the China Scholarship Council and the Faculty of Education from the University of Ottawa. The WCP ran from 2015 to 2018 and I had the wonderful opportunity to be the manager of the program and a teacher trainer.

The WCP aimed at providing professional development to teachers from rural schools in the provinces of Yunnan and Gansu. In Canada, the program entailed courses on ELT methodology, English language, and sociocultural educational experiences. In China, I visited different schools located in remote areas and did teaching training for local ELT teachers.

Part of the project also involved teaching English to Chinese school kids. I was lucky to meet primary and secondary students from schools in Dali, Mojiang, Lanzhou, and many other amazing places.
