The Bengawan Solo River Basin Organization (BBWS Bengawan Solo) has conducted the construction of water resources facilities and infrastructure (sapras) throughout the Bengawan Solo River basin. Therefore, it is necessary to assess the performance of dam and reservoir structures (BPA) in operational and maintenance activities (OP) in order to conduct evaluations for the improvement of dams and reservoirs (BPA).
In order to carry out the conservation of water resources, maintenance is needed for the water resources facilities and infrastructure (sapras), including 30 dams and 102 reservoir sites (BPA) in the Bengawan Solo River basin area. Dams are also crucial infrastructure and assets that require security measures. Besides providing significant benefits, dams also entail potential risks of disasters in case of dam failures. Therefore, attention is needed to address factors that may cause potential dam failures. In the fiscal year 2018, the Bengawan Solo River Basin Organization (BBWS Bengawan Solo) conducted Performance Assessment and AKNOP (Analysis of Operation and Maintenance Costs) activities for Dams and Reservoirs (BPA) to obtain data on physical conditions and characteristics, enabling maintenance and preservation of such infrastructure/buildings in the Bengawan Solo River basin area.
The Performance Assessment and AKNOP (Analysis of Operation and Maintenance Costs) activities for Dams and Reservoirs (BPA) are surveys and investigations of dam and reservoir infrastructure operated and maintained in the Bengawan Solo River basin area, carried out by the Operations and Maintenance of Water Resources I, Water Resources O&M Agency.
