Those present included priests, religious, associates, collaborators, board members, and friends of Holy Cross. Named participants were Most Rev. Gerard Bergie, Bishop of St. Catharines (who led the Blessing of the House and Chapel and the Liturgy of the Word); Rev. Fr. Frank Wagner, C.S.C. (who offered the welcome); Fr. Claude Grou, C.S.C. and Fr. Pinto Paul, C.S.C. (who also shared words of thanks); Fr. Jomon K., C.S.C. and Fr. Arul Jayaraj, C.S.C. (who proclaimed the Gospel and Psalm); Fr. Shaji M. L., C.S.C.; Mr. Don Hall; and lay collaborators Patricia and Michael, who joined Fr. Claude and Fr. Pinto in the Lighting of the Candle, symbolizing the unity of clergy, laity, and families.
Entrusting the residence to Our Lady of Sorrows, Fr. Shaji prayed it would be “a guiding light of faith, a sanctuary of family prayer, and a testimony to the living spirit of Holy Cross.” May this new home remain a dwelling of faith, hope, and love—where the Rosary is prayed and the legacy of Venerable Patrick Peyton is lived each day.
