Drawing on the Filipino youth’s natural affinity for singing and their inclination to join church choirs, the FRC has organized a special event: Mary, My Mother, My Queen—A Marian Choral Competition.
FRC commissioned accomplished composer Rivah Singson to create an exclusive Marian hymn for the occasion. This sacred composition, suitable for liturgical celebrations, echoes the final words of Fr. Patrick Peyton, serving as a testament to his unwavering devotion to Mary. Rivah hopes that this song will inspire profound devotion to the Blessed Mother and reveal her intercessory power alongside her son, Jesus. Equally important is introducing the younger generation to Fr. Peyton and his mission.
FRC has been actively promoting the contest to music ministries within the Cubao Diocese, to which it belongs. On October 5, 2024, the Grand Finals of the competition will be held live at the Marian Auditorium of Miriam College. Ten choirs will compete for the top three prizes before an expected audience of 700.
In this inaugural gathering, choirs will weave dreams and prayers into harmonious melodies. As choir members pour their hearts into every lyric, they extend an invitation to participants and listeners alike to experience prayer in a new way. So, let us raise our voices, for prayer need not be silent. It can be sung, shared, and celebrated. In each note, we discover grace—the celestial echo of our longing hearts.
The FRC Team promotes the competition to the Cubao Vicariates of San Pedro Bautista, Sta. Rita and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
