At over 80 years old, Teresia Njeri—a faithful Christian in Dandora for more than 40 years—came to the HCFM Centre, physically worn and emotionally burdened. Having lost all her children and most grandchildren, she lived alone in a deteriorating home but remained full of faith and gratitude.
Despite the struggle of climbing stairs, she refused assistance, saying, “God gave me legs to walk.” Humbly and tearfully, she asked for help with her leaking roof and crumbling doors, feeling ashamed for seeking support from the Church she had always served.
Moved by her humility and faith, HCFM Kenya visited her home and confirmed the dire conditions. They quickly restored her roof and repaired her home, bringing safety and dignity back to her life. Today, Teresia is comfortable and full of gratitude.
At 19, abused and abandoned, a young woman in Dandora found herself pregnant and pressured to have an abortion. Her only support was her church-going grandmother—who, while undergoing cancer treatment, brought her to HCFM Kenya.
After counseling and assurance of support, the young woman chose life. HCFM partnered with Brother André Hospital to provide prenatal care.
She gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who was baptized over the Christmas holidays. Thanks to HCFM, both mother and child are safe, supported, and thriving.
After completing high school, Harrison was expected to start earning a living in Dandora. Unknown to his mother, he had long been frequenting a local alcohol den and was allegedly involved with its older owner. Though he denied any relationship, Harrison showed signs of deep addiction—often drunk, unkempt, and aggressive.
Desperate, his mother sought help but found none—until she was referred to HCFM Kenya, tearfully sharing her fears that her son might be killed in the den. Further inquiry revealed Harrison was being exploited and held without pay.
HCFM responded with prayer, a novena, and decisive action. Within days, he was rescued and enrolled in a rehabilitation program fully funded by HCFM. Today, Harrison is sober, healthy, and employed at the same center that helped him heal.
