Angel Chakma

Angel Chakma faced one of the toughest moments a young student can face. After passing Class 10, his father passed away, leaving his mother alone and struggling to support the family. With no means to afford further education, Angel was forced to consider stopping his studies — a fate too many children in similar circumstances experience.

In that difficult time, his mother reached out to Global Compassion Foundation for help. Our team began searching for support, and through God’s grace and the kindness of others, we found a generous sponsor from Australia who agreed to support Angel’s education starting from Class 11.

Because of this sponsorship, Angel is now continuing his dreams. He is currently studying B.Sc. in Agriculture — 4th Semester at Assam down town University — one of the leading universities in Northeast India. The university is NAAC A+ accredited, making it one of the highest graded private universities in the region, recognized for its quality academics, research, and infrastructure. It has also received notable rankings in national assessments, such as being placed within the 101-125 band in the NIRF rankings for Pharmacy subjects and other academic metrics and has a strong standing in various national ranking frameworks.

Angel is a hardworking, bright, and dedicated student who is making the most of this opportunity. Without the support of his sponsor, his dream of higher education would have ended after Class 10. But today he is moving forward with confidence toward a meaningful career in agriculture — a field with the potential to make real impact in rural and farming communities.
