It is important to us that all members of our diverse LGBTQIA+ community are able to come to Pride and have a safe and fulfilling time.
We are currently working on our accessibility guide, if you have any needs or concerns that you would like to share, please get in touch.
We are using a route which will be familiar to anyone who takes part in parades such as the Glastonbury Dragons.
We will set off from the Market Cross, walk up the High Street, turn left down Chilkwell Street and continue to the White Spring.
For your safety, the roads will be closed from the Market Cross until the mini-roundabout on Chilkwell St - where the marshalls will guide you to the pavement.
We suggest these alternatives if you would like to process on a less challenging route:
a) Join the march up the High St and experience the joy and excitement of the busiest part of the route, then peel off at Silver Street to return to the town centre. This is a short route more suitable for those who can't travel far, have small children with them or would like to complete (or break from) their Pride day at this point.
b) Wait for us at the top of the High St (the marshalls will show you where) and join us from there - this cuts out the upward incline of the High St for a flatter route.
c) If you would like to meet the march at the White Spring, and/or join the afternoon activities at The Riflemans, and need transport, the Tor Shuttle Bus runs from St Dunstan's car park.
The Town Hall bus stops are closest to the morning activities.
Bus services are limited on Sundays, First Bus run the majority of services and have the most recent timetables.
Our nearest train stations are Castle Cary or Bridgwater, be aware that links to Glastonbury, particularly from Castle Cary, are limited, so please plan ahead.
St John's Car Park is the largest car park in Glastonbury, and is situated very close to our morning venues.
Be aware that due to road closures for the march, parking on the High St will be restricted and there will be no access between 1 and 2pm
There are accessible toilets in both St Dunstan's Car Park (near the Abbey and bus stop) and St John's car park. Unfortunately most venues lack facilities large enough for wheelchair access. There are ground floor toilets in all of our venues.
There is a baby change facility in St John's Car Park.
Queen of Cups, where our family-focused events are happening, has a larger toilet with more space for changing or helping small children, but no changing mat.
We have first aiders in the GP team - ask a steward in a sash or a march marshal if you need one!
There is a free water refill station by the Market Cross - don't forget to bring a bottle!
We recognise that the bustle of Pride can be overwhelming for some.
As well as a variety of options for different tastes and tolerances, we will be providing a quiet hangout space. More info closer to the time!
If you would like in-depth information around what to expect at different venues and activities, please ask one of our GP stewards - they will be wearing a sash and ready to help!
All of our events are taking place at ground floor level. Some venues have small, internal steps or uneven floors due to the age of the buildings.
If you would like more details, please reach out and let us know.
If you need any help to access spaces on the day, a steward in a sash can organise that for you.
If you are on a budget, The Becketts Inn allows customers to bring in their own food and provide plates and cutlery. The march ends by Tor Field, a great spot for a picnic.
There is no cost to access any Pride events besides Rainbow Vespers. If cost is preventing you from coming, please reach out, and we will add you to the guest list.
