GLASTONBURY FRIENDS of HOUSING PURPOSE
Our housing shortage and rapidly rising prices are increasingly imposing hardships for:
Families and their budgets – including the middle class
Young people who want to return and older people who want to stay in our community
People living with disabilities or special needs who need accessible housing.
Existing and needed workforce members and volunteers vital to Glastonbury's ongoing success
Others who dream, like most of us did, of becoming part of and contributing to the life of our community as volunteers and in other vital ways.
The shortage and high prices also impede the social and income diversity that help promote economic and civic vitality and a rich community life. Impediments to progress and a more appropriate mix of housing options often cited include local zoning regulations, policies, and some misconceptions about the impacts of housing developments.
Glastonbury Friends of Housing wants to help find solutions to these challenges!
