Today I brought my dog Ester with me to do my sampling. It was one of her first times in a river so it was a very fun experience. The sky was cloudy and the river was a bit higher then yesterday because of a thunderstorm the previous night. The added water didn't seem to affect my data that much which is a relief. I found it easier to filter the water then I thought because I was worried that I would apply to much pressure to the syringe and the filter would break. I actually found it harder to collect the dirt for the lead testing because most or my yard is covered in grass and their roots were greatly interfering. I also found paint flakes in the dirt like the video suggested I might. I took five dirt samples aroung my house, two were of different spots near the back wall of my house, one was near the front of my house, and the final two were spread out in my yard. Overall I had a really good day today!
