Today there was a lot less people then on Sunday when I went. I only saw one person with there dog and only for a short time. Today I had a lot more fun with finding macroinvertebrates then with collecting the e. coli sample yesterday. It was another sunny day which helped with being able to see the macroinvertebrates. It was cool to see the macroinvertebrates that were in different stages of growth but were the same species. It was hard to find some of the smaller ones because they were able to hide under the smaller rocks that got swept into the net. I do think that I collected more specimen in the tub then I was to find and count. One thing I did notice is that I collected a lot of stonfly and mayfly larva in my tub. I am happy about that because it means that my river is most likely in good health. I also got to see more minows today in what seemed like a larger school.
