Dynamic Characterisation of O-Rings and Stability Analysis of Air Bearings
The aim of the following thesis work is the design and possibly modify an existing O-Ring test bench and evaluate the dynamic features of a few elastomers families. These elements can be used to increase the typical instability threshold of rotation of industrial rotors supported by air bearings. It has been possible to carry out a thorough analysis of the Project at the Polytechnic Institute of Turin (DIMEAS Laboratories), located in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi, 24, 10129 Torino (TO).
