Gender Wage Gap Dashboard for Canada

Project Overview:

The Gender Wage Gap Dashboard for Canada aims to develop a comprehensive and user-friendly tool for reporting and monitoring the gender wage gap nationwide. The dashboard will utilize data from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) and perform the Blinder Decomposition to provide insights into the factors contributing to the wage gap. 

Objectives:

• Develop a single Excel data source containing relevant variables from the LFS data from 1998 to the latest to track the history of the gender wage gap.

• Perform the Blinder Decomposition to identify and quantify the factors contributing to the wage gap, considering explained and unexplained components.

• Create an interactive and accessible dashboard that presents the gender wage gap trends at the national and provincial levels, allowing users to explore data and download specific reports.
