Is Gibraltar part of the UK or Spain?
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory sharing a very small land border with Spain to its north.
The Gibraltar Airport Runway makes this airport especially unique as a highway crosses over the top of the tarmac. See @ministry of flight on youtube, for the most videos of planes landing and taking off from Gibraltar.
If you visit Gibraltar, you will have to cross over the top of the runway in order to get into the city center.
Gibraltar Cable Car:
Take a look at the videos in the playlist to see more information about the Gibraltar Cable Car. The Gibraltar Cable Car takes passengers up to the top and back down again every 10-15 minutes. You can stay up at the top as long as you like. But be aware that if you want to walk down, you have to pay the park entrance fee.
Gibraltar Monkeys:
Gibraltar is unique because it is the only place in the Europe that has monkeys living in the wild. Be sure to see my videos about safety and keeping distance while watching the Gibraltar monkeys.
Do they speak English in Gibraltar?
Yes, English is the National Language, but many of its residents also speak Spanish, or a mix of Spanish and English.
Gibraltar Pronunciation:
A lot of people have a hard time saying Gibraltar or know how to pronounce it. I often call it Gib. Watch my videos to see the correct pronunciation of Gibraltar.
Gibraltar Strait: The Strait of Gibraltar is the body of water that bisects the continent of Europe from the Continent of Africa. Thousands of ships pass through here every year!
