A large part of Model UN is writing. From position papers to resolutions, written papers make up a large part of the conferences. These papers have specific formats that will be detailed on this page. Research resources will be on this page as well.

Position Papers
The position paper is more focused on council operations. Position papers are to research your country's position on the topics covered in council. Each topic should be well researched as best you can. Some countries may be difficult to research, such as Cote d"Ivoire. Other countries, such as the US and Russia, have well known positions on many topics world wide. Research your country's position as much as you can. Avoid being vague about positions and cite your sources. Attached below are Position Paper tips and an example paper from GSU.

Official Government Website - Many countries have an official website full of information about your nation's views
Model UN App - A good app for quick access to any general information needed for Model UN including a world factbook, list of NGOs, and more.
