Welcome to "Rey", our NSF-funded instrument and newest addition to the lab. Rey will allow us to characterize water geochemistry for research, teaching, and beyond. I am most excited to explore water-rock and water-bone interactions in the field and through lab-based experiments. She is capable of running cations and anions simultaneously. In the future, she will also allow us to characterize organic acids in natural waters as well. She is awesome.
"Yoda" allows us to quantify carbon dioxide in air samples, including samples from caves!
"Chewie" is the workhorse for preparing samples for stable isotope analyses.
We have an RDO/conductivity/pH meter, a YSI conductivity meter, a Chemetrics field spetrophotometer, and other fun tools!
Thanks to "Han", no more walking across campus to muffle glassware or analyze soils and other solid materials!Â
Used to freeze dry soils and tissues for downstream analyses include stable isotopes and biomarkers! R2DnoH2O
No more carrying 9L jugs of water across campus in the winter thanks to "R2-D2" (aka R2DiH2O). This was also purchased thanks to NSF funding.
Not captured in the photo: a pile of rocks under the muffle furnace...
