Course Title: MUGE 106 Building a secure financial future
Credits: 2(2-0-4)
Literacy: Finance and Management Literacy
Course Goals: This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of personal finance and financial planning, with a focus on building a secure financial future. The course will cover a wide range of topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, retirement planning, and risk management. Students will learn how to make informed financial decisions, create, and implement financial plans, and evaluate their progress towards financial goals.
Course Description: Principles and techniques of income and expense management, debt management, financial goal-setting, and investment allocating for securing one's financial future
Course Objectives:
Understand the importance of financial planning and the role it plays in building a secure financial future
Develop a solid understanding of key financial concepts, such as budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management
Learn how to create a comprehensive financial plan that includes short-term and long-term goals
Develop skills for evaluating investment options and managing financial risk.
Course-level Learning Outcomes:
CLO1 Explain the principles and techniques of revenue and expense management, debt management, financial goal setting, and basic investment allocation correctly
CLO2 Analyze their own financial health and cases provided to select appropriate management methods
CLO3 Plan and present effective short-term and long-term personal financial goals for themselves

The course includes three modules as follows:
MODULE 1 E-learning
Students must complete the 'Building a Secure Financial Future' course on Coursera to pass the MODULE 1 E-learning.
Coursera for MU invitation emails will be sent individually to students' .ac.th emails after the add/drop period.
Course starts: September 1, 2025
Course ends: November 30, 2025
Note: No Manual Submission of Certification Required
You do not need to manually submit your course certificates after completing the assigned Coursera course. Your learning progress and results will automatically be reflected in the course admin's report once you've completed the courses.
Please make sure to complete the courses on time and follow all the requirements set by Coursera to ensure your results are properly recorded.

MODULE 3 Share & Learn
Join the MUGE106 PLUS activity on Cisco WebEx to learn more about investing and to share your personal financial future plan. Depending on the speaker's availability, the event (which will last roughly two hours) will happen on a Wednesday afternoon in the last two weeks of November. Later, the day will be announced.
To receive the letter "S" for the course, students must complete all three modules and receive at least 60% of the total points. If they complete all three modules and receive more than 80% of the possible points, they will receive an "O" for the course.
