GeoVista Talent Hunt '25 includes exciting events that provide a platform for young talents to showcase their geovisualization skills and creativity.
The talent hunt not only celebrates student creativity but also helps participants build confidence, gain exposure, and connect with their peers. It provides a unique opportunity for students to explore their potential and take bold steps toward their dreams. The following are the events to be organized during the GeoVista 2025.
The deadline for the Talent Hunt is 28 February 2025.
Please note that there is no registration fee to participate in the Talent Hunt '25. The selected teams/individuals from each event will be invited (in-person) to participate GeoVista 2025 conference and exhibit their creative works.
About Carto Crafters:
CartoCrafters is a map-making competition for creating maps on different themes, using any mapping software or manual methods. It is a provoking event where participants come together to develop new insights into the mapping community. By fostering teamwork and creativity, CartoCrafters not only advances mapping technologies but also contributes to community empowerment through improved geographic visualization.
Eligibility:
Any undergraduate/postgraduate students from any recognized college/ University/ Institution from India can participate in the GeoVista – CartoCrafters ’25.
Instructions:
A team may consist of individuals or groups not exceeding two members.
Participants can choose their problem statement.
A report must be submitted in the prescribed format provided below.
All submissions must be completed by 28.02.2025.
The jury’s decision will be final and binding.
Submission Guidelines:
Submission should be made in two parts:
1. Report:
Title: Name of the problem statement that had been chosen.
Sections: Background, Data Products, Methods, Interpretations, References.
Format: Font - Times New Roman, Size – 12, Line space – 1.15 (Headings: Bold, Size – 14, Centre aligned).
The report should not exceed one page.
2. Map:
The final map prepared on the problem statement should be submitted as a separate file.
Format: Any image format preferably in .png .jpg or .tif file format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Size: It should not exceed 20 mb.
The eligible entries will receive Certification of Appreciation, and the selected maps will receive a Certificate of Merit! 🎖️

About GeoModX:
It is not just about crafting models, it's about bringing ideas to life! This competition provides a unique opportunity to showcase knowledge and creativity. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of Earth's dynamic systems while offering innovative insights into the forces shaping our planet.
Participants Eligibility:
“Geo-ModX 2025” is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students from any accredited college, university, or institution across India.
Instructions:
Teams may consist of individuals or groups not exceeding more than 3 members.
Models should be designed to reflect a geographical perspective effectively.
The team must submit a title of the model and a concise description (up to 300 words) at the time of registration. In the write-up, describe the model and its insights.
Registration must be completed by 28 February 2025.
Selected models must be brought in person on the day of the GeoVista 2025 (07 March 2025).
All models must be original creations made by the participants themselves.
Participants will have 5 minutes to present their models.
The use of eco-friendly and recycled materials is strongly encouraged.

What is it?
A short video competition where teams create impactful videos (live-action or animated) on environmental themes.
Who can participate?
Open to all students/researchers any recognized college/ University/ Institution in India
Maximum five members per team
Video Guidelines:
✅ Duration: 45 seconds to 1 minute
✅ Original Content – No copied clips, AI-generated content, or plagiarized materials
✅ Animated videos are allowed but must be original
✅ Language: Any, but must include English subtitles

Photography Theme: “Tranquil Forces: The Subtle Power of Nature”
Nature is a quiet yet powerful force, constantly shaping the world around us. Sometimes, its influence is dramatic; other times, it works slowly, subtly, and over time. This year’s Serene Lens competition invites photographers to capture how nature’s quiet strength transforms the landscape, leaving a lasting impact.
Submission Guidelines:
Theme Relevance: Your photograph should depict a landscape or environment where nature’s quiet power is evident, whether through erosion, the growth of plant life, shifting weather patterns, or the gentle passage of time etc.
Original Work: The image must be your original photograph, unedited and without any alterations. Plagiarism or the use of external images will result in disqualification.
Image Specifications:
The image must be in JPEG/ PNG format.
High resolution is required for clarity and quality.
The file size should not exceed 10MB.
Location Details: Mention the exact location and time when the photograph was taken.
Write-up: Along with your photograph, submit a title for your image and a short note (up to 250 words). In your write-up, describe how the image represents the quiet but lasting power of nature and the transformation it brings to the landscape.
Limit of One Submission: Each participant is allowed to submit only one photograph. Multiple submissions will result in disqualification.
Deadline: All entries must be submitted by 28 February 2025. Late entries will not be considered.
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to participate.
Prizes and Recognition: Selected photographs will be featured during the GeoVista 2025 event and awarded with Certificate of Merit. Eligible Photographers will receive a Certificate of Appreciation for their contribution.

A unique drawing competition that brings geography to life through artistic expression. Participants can create insightful artwork based on geographical themes, showcasing the beauty, challenges, and future of our planet phenomena.

The artwork shall be based on any geographical phenomena, including but not limited to:
🌄 Natural Landscapes: Mountains, rivers, oceans, coasts, forests
🏙 Human Geography: Cities, culture, heritage sites

Open to all students
Traditional Art Only:
Ink, Pencil (Black & White or Colored), Crayons, Watercolor, Acrylic, Pastels, Oil, Markers, etc.
❌ Digital artworks are not allowed.
📏 Paper Size: A3 or A4
Originality: AI-generated or copied work will lead to disqualification.
📤 Submission Guidelines
File Format: Scanned copies in JPEG/PNG/PDF (300 DPI)
