The Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC) works in underserved high schools throughout Georgia to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students who attend and complete higher education. We help students find their way to college by placing well-trained, recent college graduates in high schools to work one-on-one with students as they navigate the complex college admissions process, including researching college options, completing applications, and applying for financial aid.
GCAC College Advisers are not only chosen for their ability to work with students to make successful plans after high school, but they are also chosen due to their similar life experiences. GCAC College Advisers are 52% first-generation, 83% Pell Grant recipients, as 74% people of color. The GCAC team is able to truly represent their life experiences and inspire students to aim high.

GCAC advisers continued to serve students through the difficulties associated with COVID-19, and had an increase of over 2,500 senior interactions in the 2019-2020 school year compared to the 2018-2019 school year.
