How to use this resource

To use this resource, download the Teacher Guide and other resources from the What does Bolivia teach us? tab.

This offers a detailed guide to three sections of the resource:

  • Understanding sustainable development from Bolivia

  • Resource conflicts; and

  • the Sustainable Development Goals and global sustainability.

The resource is made up of:

· Short films

There are two films. Across these films, the following three questions are discussed by several indigenous leaders and development workers: 1) How do you define ‘developed? 2) How do we achieve sustainable development? 3) How does resource extraction affect your territory?

· Interview Transcript

There is a document that provides you with a Transcript (in English) of the films.

· StoryMap activities

There are two StoryMap activities that allow students to learn more about significant locations and where natural resources are found in Bolivia.

· PowerPoints and Supporting Text

We have designed the resource to be used flexibly by teachers, who can fit the activities and resources to each particular class. Although designed for Key Stage 3, we think some of the resources may be useful and transferrable for teaching at Key Stage 4 and 5.

We have complied some additional readings and teaching resources, in case you wish to do further reading or want to find some extra resources for teaching related topics that are raised within this resource, these can be found on the Further reading for teachers tab.

In the Teacher feedback tab, you will find an email. We would welcome your feedback on the resource and are keen to know how it is used in each school.
